This
is a little tale told to me by a friend who at one time, had four
cats - Tabs, Jabba, Izzy and Yago. They were a very
happy little family until one day about four years ago , Izzy went
out one morning and didn't come back.
The family were everso upset and did everything they could think of to
find Izzy. Days, weeks and months went by and the memory of Izzy never
faded - the months turned into two years and still there was a sadness
in that little family that no amount of happy memories could dispel.
It was a lovely sunny day in June a couple of years ago, when Jabba went
off chasing butterflies in the garden - the butterfly that led Jabba out
of his territory has a lot to answer for. Jabba's humans searched high
and low, asked everyone they met and put posters all around the neighbourhood
but to no avail - Jabba wasn't to be found.
The two little baskets with their cushions remained in the corner of the
sitting room, Tabs, Yago and their humans never gave up hope of seeing
Izzy and Jabba again even though the days turned into weeks and the weeks
to months which in turn turned into another two years - every week, the
humans checked the newspapers, looked on the internet for their missing
friends and continued to mention them to whoever would listen.
It was only a few months ago when a postcard appeared in a local
shop window, a cat had been found whos description sort of matched
Jabba's, not expecting it to be her missing pal, the female human rang
the number she had noted from the card and went along to a little house
not too far away to meet the lady who had posted it.
Well, our human had only just sat down and accepted a cup of tea when
Jabba walked into the room and went straight to her , there was no
doubt that it was one and the same, and our human was overjoyed to
see him - however she hadn't noticed another furry bundle that was
asleep on a cushion at the far side of the room.
Awakened by the obvious rejoicing of this
human, the furry bundle looked up - gave a purr of recognition and strolled
over for a hug. Well , would you believe it...
